For the first time, more than 50 missiles were used in a raid
The Russian air forces seem to have finally delivered the long-awaited «retaliation strike» for the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge. Powerful missile strikes (reported at least 50 missiles) on enemy ports, railway stations, and airfields were inflicted by the Russian army on Wednesday, July 26, in the afternoon. For the «star strike», as they called the attack on the Web (when missiles go to targets from different directions), they began to prepare ahead of time. It is reported that the targets of the strikes were “underground NATO command centers, Ukrainian headquarters and underground arsenals.”
Information about possible missile strikes on the enemy began to arrive in the afternoon. A number of Telegram channels wrote that strategic bombers took off from Saratov and the Caspian Sea region. So, according to some reports, 10 bombers headed from the Engels airfield towards Ukraine, and 12 Tu-95MS aircraft from the Caspian Sea.
The arrivals in Nikolaev, which had been attacked all last week, began to be prepared in advance. In the afternoon, an emergency evacuation began there from the port area.
Toward evening, information appeared about the announcement of an air alert throughout Ukraine, including in Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolaev, Odessa, Poltava, Kharkov regions. More than fifty missiles were reported to have participated in the raid. They went to the targets in groups of 15-20.
In Ukrainian social networks, they wrote that the missiles used maneuvers to deceive the enemy’s air defenses. Air raids in Khmelnitsky, Krivoy Rog, Zhytomyr and Dnepropetrovsk were announced after the arrivals, which indicates a change in tactics and difficulties in detecting missiles.
At about 19:00 Moscow time, the first reports of explosions appeared in the Dnepropetrovsk and Kirovograd regions . It is possible that this is the result of the operation of the Iskander missiles. It is too early to say what targets were hit, but there are many military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this area, as well as a large logistics terminal where foreign weapons and ammunition arrive for the Ukrainian group of troops in Donbas.
Half an hour later, information began to come in about attacks by Kinzhal missiles on military targets in Western Ukraine — in the Khmelnytsky, Ternopil, Lvov regions.
In the Khmelnytsky region, in particular, there are several important military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, among which Starokonstantinov airfield, from where Su-24M bombers with British cruise missiles took off.
There are reports that the Ukrainian air defense is overloaded and cannot withstand the «star raid» that was prepared for the enemy by the Russian Aerospace Forces.
< p> It is also reported about a series of attacks on the Zhytomyr region. According to the “Come and See” channel, the Russian Aerospace Forces worked on infrastructure facilities of the Ukrainian army. Earlier, the Russian Aerospace Forces attacked the Kherson region and the Zmeiny Island. There were no official data on the consequences of the strike, but this fact is indirectly confirmed by the activity of Ukrainian sailors in the Zmiinoye area.
This small piece of land is strategically important, since it clearly shows the situation in the western, southwestern and partially the central water area of the Black Sea.
