Russia will offer African countries solutions to food problems

MOSCOW, Jul 25 Russia at the summit in St. Petersburg Oleg Ozerov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, head of the secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, said in an interview about the possibility of the Russian Federation to provide Africa with grain after the termination grain deal, the Foreign Ministry Ambassador noted that within the framework of the Russia-Africa summit, a discussion is planned on international food security and stability of the fertilizer market.

«Naturally, this will not only be a discussion, but a discussion with a proposal for a solution for African states so that they leave St. Petersburg with a clear understanding of how these problems will be solved,» Ozerov said.

The diplomat recalled that Russia has already provided assistance to African countries by sending several parties fertilizers, for example, to Malawi and Kenya.
«I think we always have the opportunity to agree on these issues with our African friends,» Ozerov stressed.
The second Russia-Africa Summit and Economic Forum will be held on 27 July 28th. acts as an information partner of the event.
The grain deal ceased on July 18, the Russian Federation notified Turkey, Ukraine and the UN of its objection to its extension. Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously noted that the terms of the deal with Russia were not kept, despite the efforts of the UN, because Western countries were not going to keep their promises. Putin has repeatedly pointed out that the West exported most of the Ukrainian grain to their states, and the main goal of the deal — the supply of grain to needy countries, including African ones — was never realized.
