MOSCOW, 26 Jul. Throw Mom from the Train writer and actor Stew Silver has died at the age of 76. This was reported by Variety.
The author passed away on July 18 at his home in New York. The cause of death was complications from prostate cancer.
The most famous work of Stu Silver was the film «Throw Mom from the Train» about two men, one of whom is trying to get rid of his importunate wife, and the other — from a despotic mother. The screenwriter played one of the episodic roles in the film. The comedy was nominated twice for the Golden Globe and once for the Oscar.
Silver has also worked on several series as a producer. He won the CableACE Awards for the TV series Brothers and the People's Choice Award for the sitcom Webster.
