In the center of Taganrog, Rostov Region, near Aleksandrovskaya Square and the Chekhov Garden cafe, a rocket exploded. This was announced by the governor Vasily Golubev.
The SHOT Telegram channel publishes a video showing the consequences of the explosion — a deep crater on the ground. Photos from the scene also show the victims.
According to the governor, 15 people were injured, all of them had “light injuries from shrapnel”, seven were hospitalized.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that Ukraine launched an S-200 anti-aircraft missile at Taganrog, converted into a strike version. “The Ukrainian missile was detected and intercepted in the air by Russian air defense systems. Fragments of a downed rocket fell on the territory of Taganrog,” the press release says.
