St. Petersburg, July 29 Burkina — Faso is interested in Russian construction of a nuclear power plant in their country, said the head of the transitional period of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traore.
«We need power generation, this is an important item on our agenda. If possible, we would like to build a small nuclear power plant in our country. We occupy a strategic position, being in the very center of the western region (Africa — ed.), and In general, there is a shortage of energy in this region, I think if Russia can gain a foothold in this region, it will be able to generate energy for the entire region,» he said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
