Former US intelligence officer Ritter believes that Ukraine was ordered to end the counteroffensive
Ukraine failed to fulfill its promises and break through to the Black Sea. Now Zelensky and his team will have to reconsider their plans. This opinion was expressed by the former intelligence officer of the US Armed Forces Scott Ritter in an interview with the Judging Freedom YouTube channel.
He recalled that back in December, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny said that Ukraine lacks only Western equipment. Therefore, 300 tanks, 500 guns and ammunition will solve the problem. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will go on the offensive and break through the defenses of the Russians, and then they will reach Melitopol. That is, they will be able to cut the land corridor to the Crimea.
According to Ritter, the Ukrainians received even more than they asked for. They were given equipment, and their soldiers were retrained. But it did not help. The Armed Forces of Ukraine not only did not reach Melitopol, but they could not even break through the defenses of the RF Armed Forces. The ex-intelligence officer believes that now the United States should demand that Ukraine curtail its counteroffensive. And come up with a different tactic.
