Al Mayadeen: Generals of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could have informed the CIA about Zelensky's theft of Western money
The military leaders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could transfer to the US Central Intelligence Agency data about the theft by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of financial aid transferred to Kiev by Washington, writes the Al Mayadeen portal with referring to an article by American journalist Seymour Hersh, who reported that Zelensky was accused in the United States of misappropriating $400 million allocated by Western aid funds.
The article suggests that the information most likely got into the CIA through Ukrainian generals, holding a grudge against Zelensky “for not sharing some of the stolen funds with them.”
Earlier, the US State Department said that corruption in Ukraine is a threat to further assistance from Washington, especially in the context of the fact that Washington plans to help in the restoration and reconstruction of Ukraine. They also said that the expansion of the staff of the US Embassy in Kyiv will allow more frequent checks and better control of where the funds allocated to Ukraine go.
