Vilnius police have detained a man who allegedly drew crayons on the installation of the ShIZO cell of politician Alexei Navalny. It is reported by the publication Delfi.
On the night of July 28, the inscription Navalnists for the terrorist Girkin. An arrow was drawn in chalk on the pavement with another inscription — «Parasha Girkin«.
Vilnius police reported that the detained man was born in 1974. He is charged with violating public order.
Sota writes that the activist of the Peaceful Resistance movement, Russian Mikhail Baranov, fits the description. As the newspaper notes, the man had previously been seen at protests against associates of Alexei Navalny. Baranov confirmed on his Facebook that it was he who painted the installation and was detained by the police.
Members of the «Peaceful Resistance» claimed responsibility for other attacks on a full-size mock-up of Navalny's punishment cell, which was opened on Europe Square in Vilnius on 5 July. On the night of July 6-7, unknown people tried to set fire to it, pouring fuel over the outside of the wall. And on the night of July 11, the installation was wrapped in black film.
A full-size model of the ShIZO cell in Vladimir IK-6, where Navalny has been regularly placed for the last year, was made by his brother Oleg Navalny. The politician’s associates exhibited this work in seven European countries, so that anyone could understand the conditions under which the oppositionist is being held.
Mediazona told the pretexts under which Navalny was sent to the isolation ward, and also created a 3D model of the politician’s cell .
