St. Petersburg, July 30. We need to help Russian companies come to Africa, there is a problem with the need for support, African leaders have spoken about this, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
“We need to help our companies to go there (to Africa — ed.),” Putin said, answering journalists' questions.
He noted that Lukoil operates in some African countries, other Russian companies enter there, which are engaged in the development of gold and ore, Renova is engaged in renewable energy sources. In addition, Russia, according to the president, has the opportunity to enter there and build hydroelectric power plants, while African countries are interested in low-capacity nuclear power plants.
«You understand, Africa is developing, there is a lot of demand, you just need to provide administrative support. Which, apparently, was not done properly and in the proper quality … There is a problem, and African leaders talked about it, but I hope we will respond to this,» Putin added.
