MOSCOW, July 31 Already this year Almaz-Antey will begin testing and supplying the first imported equipment for gas production on the continental shelf of the Russian Federation, said the director of the department for the development of civil products of the concern Artem Shatrakov on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa forum.
“As usual, any crisis means not only difficulties, but also new opportunities. Developing civilian products, the areas in which we are absolutely clear are those areas where import substitution is now needed. For example, the equipment that we we develop and manufacture for PJSC Gazprom, which has never been produced in Russia or in the Soviet Union. This is pure import substitution to ensure oil and gas production on the shelf,» Shatrakov said.
According to him, this work has been going on for several years and will continue.
«The customer and I determined the technical requirements for products, prepared our own facilities for the production of this equipment. And this year we are entering the testing of this equipment and the serial delivery of the first sets. Considering that this equipment will never it was not produced in Russia, this is a rather powerful technological breakthrough,» he said.
In 2019, Gazprom and Almaz-Antey signed a long-term agreement for serial production and supply of import-substituting equipment for underwater hydrocarbon production.
