According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Mari El, 21 people were injured from fallen trees during the hurricane in tent camps on the lakes of Yalchik and Tair, and 8 more people, including 3 children, died. 17 people were hospitalized, including 2 children.
«Among the tourists who died due to the hurricane in the tent camp of Mari El, there is a native of the Sterlibashevsky district born in 1991 and her two young children, born in 2021 and 2023. The father of the family is now in one of the hospitals in Volzhsk in serious condition,» Rakhmangulov said.
According to him, a fundraiser has been announced in Bashkiria for the transportation and burial of the dead.
