A unique industrial exoskeleton was presented to Mikhail Mishustin in Norilsk. Siberian inventors have created a universal design that can several times reduce the load on the body of workers.
The Prime Minister arrived in Norilsk on a working visit on 27 July. Here he was shown a unique Russian development — an exoskeleton designed specifically for workers in heavy industrial enterprises.
The design allows you to reduce the likelihood of injury from overload and being in forced static positions by reducing the load on the musculoskeletal system during work related to lifting, transferring and holding objects weighing up to 60 kg. Reduces the workload of lifting machines and mechanisms. It compensates for the limited mobility of load-lifting mechanisms and machines due to the possibility of using it in cramped conditions.
With the exoskeleton, an ordinary person turns into a strong man, which was clearly demonstrated by the tester.
— The exoskeleton enhances human capabilities. You can work in it while under static voltage. For example, the pipeline is hanging, I went up to it to replace the valve weighing 40 kg. I set it up myself, baited it myself, chose a convenient position for the construction of the exoskeleton complex and did the job, — explained the tester, dressed in an exoskeleton, to which the same plug weighing 42 kilos is suspended.
— We must wait for someone — not question: sat down and waited — at this moment the tester naturally squats down without losing balance. The piece of pipe doesn't seem to bother him at all.
Moreover, domestic development helps workers protect themselves from the most insidious spinal injury that can occur when lifting weights from a half-bent position.
— In a bent position, try to lift the load. The back will break immediately. And here — you can calmly lift it and you can move, — the tester says, — The exoskeleton does not restrict my movements. The whole load goes to him, and not to the human body.
The exoskeleton can be used to work with heavy objects weighing up to 65 kg. But, according to testers, this is far from the limit. The design withstands up to 120 kilos. On the basis of this development, Norilsk engineers also came up with an exochair. It is suitable for both office workers and factory workers. The main feature of the exostula is the ability to keep the human body in a stable position in case of an emergency.
