MOSCOW, August 1 The national currency of a foreign state, issued in digital form and being legal tender, is now legally recognized in Russia and is equal in status to foreign currency in any other form, follows from the amendments to the law on currency regulation and currency control that entered into force on August 1.
“Subparagraph “b” of paragraph 2 of part 1 of Article 1 shall be supplemented with the words “as well as the national monetary unit of a foreign state (group of foreign states) issued in digital form by the national central bank of a foreign state (group of foreign states) or other body of a foreign state .., whose functions include the issuance of such monetary units, which is in circulation and is a legal means of payment on the territory of the corresponding foreign state (group of foreign states),» the document says.
It is also now provided that non-residents have the right to carry out transactions without restrictions with digital rubles, unless otherwise provided by law.
From today, the main law on the digital ruble also came into force. Operations on the digital ruble platform will be carried out according to the rules approved by the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia.
In addition, he will determine the tariffs for transactions with the third form of national currency and the timeframe in which banks will have to provide customers with the opportunity to conduct such transactions. It is planned that transfers and payments in digital rubles will be free for citizens, and the tariffs for businesses for accepting payments in digital rubles will be 0.3% of the payment.
