Real disposable income of Russians increased by 5.3%

Real disposable income of Russians in the second quarter of 2023 accelerated growth to 5.3% year-on-year from 4.4% in the first quarter. According to the results of the first half of the year, they grew by 4.7%. Such data on Wednesday, August 2, are provided by the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).

According to updated data, in the first quarter of 2022, the indicator grew by 2% in annual terms, in the second it showed zero dynamics, in the third the decline was 5.3%, in the fourth indicator decreased by 0.2%.

In July, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that real wages for the first time since 2018 rose at a double-digit pace. In April, the figure exceeded 10%. At the same time, the Russian leader stressed that it is necessary to index the salaries of those employed in the public sector in a timely manner.

The head of state also reported that in 2022, 1.7 million Russian citizens left the poverty line. Putin stressed that Russia will continue to maintain a downward trend in the level of poverty among the population.
