Roman Paklin, who was arrested in the «Tyumen case», will be transferred from the pre-trial detention center to a psychiatric hospital

The Central District Court of Tyumen granted the investigator's petition and decided to transfer Roman Paklin, a defendant in the Tyumen case, from the pre-trial detention center to a psychiatric hospital. Mediazone was informed about this by the joint press service of the regional courts.

An anti-fascist from Surgut was under arrest on charges of participating in a terrorist community (part 2 of article 205.4 of the Criminal Code) and preparing to commit a terrorist act (part 1 article 30; point «a» of part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code).

As specified in the press service, now Paklin will be transferred to the Lebedev branch of the Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital. There he will stay until October 29. The court made this decision on the basis of the “medical report of the commission of experts conducted in relation to the defendant”, which the investigator attached to the petition.

The support group for the defendants in the “Tyumen case” wrote that on July 25 the court extended Paklin’s preventive measure in the form arrest until 31 August. In the video from the meeting, a 25-year-old young man says that he has problems related to physical health — vision, pressure. When asked about his emotional state, he replied: “Everything is fine, I sent a large number of letters the other day.”

In early September, the Tyumen Interior Ministry opened a criminal case on the creation of a terrorist community, which, according to investigators, included six anti-fascists from Yekaterinburg, Surgut and Tyumen: Nikita Oleinik, Danila Chertykov, Deniz Aidyn, Kirill Brik, Yuri Neznamov and Roman Paklin. All of them were sent to jail.

According to investigators, out of «hatred for the current state regime,» the residents of the Urals discussed scenarios for overthrowing the government during the year at «secret meetings.» The security forces also claim that on August 30, young people created an improvised explosive device at home, and then came to the local thermal power plant-2 “in order to find a suitable area for the explosion in forest plantations.”

It follows from Paklin's story to the lawyer that on the afternoon of September 1, 2022, he was taken away from work at Surgutneftegaz by the company's security service. After that, the anti-fascist was handed over to people in civilian clothes, who, according to Paklin, were employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Urals' hands were twisted, they were handcuffed and blindfolded with masking tape. In addition, he was shocked, demanding to confess to the order for the manufacture of grenades for shelling police stations.
