The 1st Eastern District Military Court, at an offsite hearing in the Novosibirsk Garrison Military Court, sentenced 67-year-old pensioner Takhir Arslanov to three years in a penal colony in the case of anti-war comments on VKontakte. This was reported by the telegram channel «Coalition Novosibirsk 2020».
The state prosecution requested that Arslanov be sentenced to six years in prison. A Novosibirsk resident was found guilty of inciting terrorism and extremism on the Internet, as well as inciting to riots (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code, part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code and part 3 of article 212 of the Criminal Code). According to Arslanov himself, the case was opened in February.

Two servicemen from Barnaul spoke in court, in whom the pensioner’s publications “caused negative emotions.” Witnesses claim that they stumbled upon Arslanov's posts by accident. According to the Novosibirsk, he regrets that he «couldn't restrain himself» from comments.
