MOSCOW, August 3 At the festival of music, military-historical reenactment and ethnic fashion «Sky of the Slavs», which will be held in the Vologda region on August 5-6, ethnic fashion show will take place. More than 100 participants will present their collections of modern clothes with Russian traditional elements, said Aleksey Palchekh, head of the historical and ethnographic complex «Outpost of the Belozersky Princes».

"Ethno fashion show is an important element of our festival. 105 participants come to demonstrate their models. That is, the collection of costumes will include hundreds of models,» Palchekh said.
He specified that modern costumes, but with traditional Russian elements, will be presented at the shows.

"This is such a connection — when fashion designers reflect and preserve traditions in modern costume. It may be embroidery, it may be some kind of artist's fantasy, but in a traditional way. That is, an avant-garde, but kokoshnik, suddenly appears in a suit. It is very interesting and very beautiful,” explained the head of the complex.
He added that the screening was preceded by a big competition in which 140 teams from all over the country took part. The selection was held in four categories: traditional national costume, ethnic motifs in modern clothes, the best ethnic designer and the best ethnic performance.
