The Prosecutor General's Office has declared the Wilfried Martens Center for European Studies an «undesirable organization». This was reported by the press service of the department.
“Since 2014, under the guise of educational activities, the events organized by the Center have been focused solely on creating a negative image of the Russian Federation, justifying the need for a military-political and informational confrontation with Russia, and strengthening sanctions pressure in order to harm the economic development of our country”, — according to the department.
Wilfried Martens is a politician and former prime minister of Belgium, he founded the non-governmental organization Center for European Studies in Brussels in 2007.
The center's boards include former prime ministers ministers of Poland, Spain, Sweden, Malta and other countries, former and current members of the European Parliament and various European departments, members of The European People's Party (EPP), as well as academics and researchers. The organization holds conferences, including those devoted to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and provides comments to the media.
