A source in the Indian government said that Prime Minister Modi will not participate in face-to-face format at the BRICS summit in Johannesburg on August 22-24 in connection with Putin's decision not to attend the leaders' meeting. According to him, New Delhi will be represented by the Vice President or the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
«We cannot speak for the Prime Minister of India, but as for President Putin, he means to participate via videoconference, there will be Foreign Minister Lavrov will work. Therefore, we proceed from the fact that Russia will take a full part in this summit,» Peskov said.
