Apple has removed the What Happened podcast from its service, which is produced by Meduza

Apple has removed Medusa's daily podcast titled «What Happened» from Apple Podcasts; what exactly was the reason for this decision is unknown. This is reported by the editors of the publication, citing a letter from the corporation.

According to the journalists, the American company previously told Meduza that Roskomnadzor had notified it of a “violation of the procedure for disseminating information” and demanded that the podcast be removed from the platform. A similar notification came to the magazine «Cold». Now the publication's podcast is also not available on Apple Podcasts.

«»What happened» is the flagship show of Meduza, a daily news podcast where we discuss news that will remain important for a long time. Apple Podcasts has always been one of the most important platforms for our podcasts, but not the only one, ”added the publication’s employees.

Two days ago, a justice of the peace in Moscow fined Apple for the first time 400 thousand rubles for refusing to remove content at the request of Russian authorities. The meeting was held behind closed doors at the request of the company's representatives, who referred to «commercial secrets».

As Interfax and TASS correspondents noted, the claims concerned applications and podcasts, which, according to Roskomnadzor, contained «inaccurate» data about the war in Ukraine. The content, according to the agency, also «involved minors in illegal activities in order to destabilize the political situation in Russia.»
