KRASNOYARSK, Aug 5 Four out of seven hospitalized after a gas explosion in a residential building in Kansk in the east of the Krasnoyarsk Territory were taken to a hospital in Krasnoyarsk, the regional Ministry of Health reported.
«Four victims were transferred for treatment to the Krasnoyarsk Regional Hospital,» the agency's interlocutor said.
Earlier, the GUMVD reported that on Friday evening, a household gas explosion occurred in a five-story residential building on Kalandarashvili Street. According to the regional Ministry of Health, 14 people applied for medical help, seven of them were hospitalized.
According to the UK, work was carried out in the house to replace the pipes of gas equipment. A criminal case has been initiated on violation of safety rules during construction work, which, through negligence, entailed infliction of grievous harm to human health.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the exterior walls of the house were not damaged, but the interior partitions, windows and doors of apartments were destroyed. According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region, nine apartments were damaged. The head of the region instructed the regional and municipal authorities to repair the affected apartments in the near future. After the incident, the authorities introduced a state of emergency in Casca.
On the footage of the local television company LimonTV, eyewitnesses stated that the workers had several cases of beer during the replacement of gas equipment.
