"Yesterday the cargo ship "Progress MS-22" performed a maneuver to evade the International Space Station from a possible collision with space debris,» the corporation said.
According to Roscosmos, the engines of the ship docked to the Zvezda service module of the Russian segment of the ISS were turned on at 05 :03 Moscow time. They worked for 196 seconds, giving out an impulse of 0.3 m/s.
As a result, the average height of the station's orbit increased by 0.5 kilometers and amounted to 416.4 kilometers.
During the entire flight time, the ISS has carried out 343 orbital altitude corrections, including 191 with the help of Progress spacecraft engines. and Andrey Fedyaev, NASA astronauts Francisco Rubio, Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg, UAE astronaut Sultan al-Neyadi.
