The Belgorod Regional Court has sentenced 45-year-old Vitaly Krivoshlyk to 12 and a half years in a strict regime colony in a treason case. This was reported by the press service of the court.
According to the FSB, Krivoshlyk, who was born in Ukraine, “collected information about the movement of military equipment and Russian servicemen in the Belgorod region” and sent them to the Security Service of Ukraine (Article 275 of the Criminal Code).
The case of the Belgorod citizen became known in May 2022, when a decision on his arrest was made by a court in Moscow. In the capital's pre-trial detention center «Lefortovo», where the defendants in cases of treason are kept, he was until the spring of 2023.
Krivoshlyk pleaded guilty and «actively contributed to the investigation.» Taking into account the fact that the man has a small child, he was given a sentence close to the minimum stipulated by the article on treason — 12 years.
