In Transbaikalia, a 27-year-old resident of the village of Nerchinsky Zavod, who was involved in a fight with a war veteran in Ukraine, was detained. This was reported by the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and «MVD Media».
The fight took place on the evening of 5 August. two invalids of the war in Ukraine Mikhail Taskin and Sergey Elgin, each of whom lost a leg, quarreled in a rural cafe with a group of local residents.
Taskin and Elgin went home by car, but on the way their transport stalled, and they again met visitors to the establishment. Those, according to the public «Transbaikalia Chita», beat them, calling them «murderers», and broke the windows of the car. Taskin was hospitalized.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs published a video of the detention of a villager. At night, the police take a man in camouflage out of the service car and lead the camera under the arms through the gate into the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Delayed due to a fight, a villager is suspected of causing minor bodily harm to a participant in the war (Article 115 of the Criminal Code) and damaging a car out of hooligan motives (Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code).
The actions of the attackers also «see signs of a crime» under the article on «discrediting» the army (280.3 of the Criminal Code), the Interior Ministry added.
To prosecute under the first part of this article, it is necessary that a person is first fined under a similar administrative article (20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). At the same time, if as a result of “discrediting” the army, someone’s health was harmed, then a case can be initiated without a decision on an administrative fine that has entered into force (part 2 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code).
