MOSCOW, August 6 Kiev received SCALP long-range missiles from France, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The head of state showed one of the shells in a video that appeared on his Telegram channel on the occasion of the Day of the Ukrainian Air Force.
French President Emmanuel Macron on July 11 at the NATO summit in Vilnius announced the decision to transfer long-range projectiles to Kiev to «support» the offensive APU. As reported by the LCI channel, we are talking about SCALP missiles. They are analogues of the Storm Shadow, which the UK is already supplying to Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the transfer of SCALP missiles to Kiev is another step towards the escalation of the conflict.
Last spring, Moscow sent a note to NATO countries because of the supply of military aid to Ukraine. Russia has repeatedly noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Kiev will become a legitimate target for the army.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also said that the United States and the alliance are directly involved in the conflict — not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel for territories of Great Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries.
