MOSCOW, August 8 Soyuz-2.1b rocket with Luna- 25″ was taken out and installed on the launch pad at the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur region, Roskosmos said on Tuesday.
«Today, the Soyuz-2.1b space rocket with the Luna-25 automatic station was taken to the launch complex of site 1C of the Vostochny cosmodrome,» the report says.
It is noted that after the rocket was placed in a vertical position at the launch complex, specialists from the enterprises of the state corporation continued its preparation for launch .
The start is scheduled for 02.11 Moscow time on August 11.
The station will have to work out the technology of soft landing, take and analyze the soil and conduct long-term scientific research, including the study of the upper layer of the surface regolith in the region of the South Pole of the Moon, as well as the lunar exosphere.
«Luna-25» will be the first station to make a soft landing in the circumpolar region with difficult terrain. All her predecessors landed in the equatorial zone.
The previous domestic station, Luna-24, was sent in 1976.
