«The FSB of Russia in the Amur Region stopped the illegal activities of a resident of Blagoveshchensk, suspected of preparing for high treason in the form of going over to the side of the enemy to participate in hostilities as part of the armed forces of a foreign state,» the message says.
It is noted that as a result of the operational search activities, an Amur resident was identified, «a follower and supporter of organizations banned in Russia, who on his own initiative entered into electronic correspondence with a representative of a Ukrainian nationalist formation through a messenger in order to participate in hostilities on the side of the armed formations of Ukraine against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation «. «Having received instructions for a secret exit from the country, an Amur resident made an attempt to leave for the territory of Ukraine, but was detained by officers of the Russian Federal Security Service for the Amur Region at the airport of Blagoveshchensk,» the report says.
The investigative unit of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Amur Region initiated a criminal case on preparations for high treason. The court put the man in custody for two months. The investigation continues.
In a video released by the FSB, the detainee said that he realized that he would have to kill the Russian military. «I wanted to fight the authorities of the Russian Federation, killing armed Russian soldiers. Realizing that I would have to do this. I was aware of all this,» he said.
