The court of appeal in the case of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, ex-chairman of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences Alexander Aseev was held on August 9 in the Novosibirsk Regional Court. The scientist is a defendant in a case of fraud related to the privatization of a service cottage on the territory of the Novosibirsk Akademgorodok. Neither the scientist himself, nor his defenders admit his guilt, referring to the fact that the privatization was carried out legally, just as 80 other members of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences did. One small nuance — the lawsuit is being held during the period of the country's military special operation, when the knowledge and vast experience of a world-famous physicist who has been developing advanced defense and security tools for decades is very necessary for the country.

Alexander Aseev, according to his colleague, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, ex-rector of Novosibirsk State University Nikolai Dikansky, is a representative of the famous Lavrentiev School of Scientific Personnel Training, a physicist who devoted his whole life to the development of modern engineering equipment and devices based on semiconductors. For 15 years he headed the country's largest Institute of Semiconductor Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. A.V. Rzhanova, since 2008, was twice re-elected Chairman of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences — this was the first Siberian at the head of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in its entire history, whom many fellow countrymen proudly called the scientific governor of Siberia.
Under him on the direct orders of the President of the country, the National Heliogeophysical Complex of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Samoilovsky Island Research Station in Yakutia were created, new academic institutes were created.
The Institute of Semiconductor Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences entrusted to him became the first organization in the country with a special heat and air supply system, where even the plumbers who controlled this system already worked on computers in the 90s! Coordinated work in the field of high-precision instrumentation is impossible without solving the problem of providing young researchers with housing.
