Prokopyev and Petelin will observe the movement, after which they will mount additional anti-meteoroid protection screens on the Rassvet. They will install them in the places where the additional radiation heat exchanger and lock chamber used to be (which were previously also transferred to the Nauka module for future experiments).
At Nauka the astronauts will assemble the workplace with its adapter, and also check the operability of the entire structure. Prokopiev will climb onto the universal workplace, fix on it and “ride” under the control of Fedyaev, who will move the place with the help of ERA. After the trial «trip», the workplace will be stored on the UFP-1 passive fixation device on the Nauka module. According to experts, the duration of the spacewalk should be 6 hours and 45 minutes.
Prokopyev and Petelin will already perform the sixth joint spacewalk during their flight, which began on September 21, 2022. During the previous flight, Prokopyev had already worked twice outside the station.
