MOSCOW, August 9 In order to reduce volatility, the Central Bank decided not to buy foreign currency under the budget rule until the end of the year, the regulator said in a statement.
«The Bank Russia has decided from August 10 until the end of the year not to buy foreign currency on the domestic market as part of mirroring the regular operations of the Ministry of Finance related to the implementation of the budget rule,» the statement says.
It is noted that the resumption of operations will occur after an analysis of the actual situation on the markets.
As for the decision on deferred purchases of foreign currency by the Central Bank on the domestic market, it will be made after the resumption of mirroring. Thus, they can be carried out over the next years.
At the same time, the Central Bank will continue operations for the sale of foreign currency related to attracting funds from the National Welfare Fund for placement in permitted assets in the first half of this year, in the amount of 2.3 billion rubles daily.
