Astrophysicists using the James Webb Telescope have obtained images of the star Earendel, located at a distance of 12.9 billion light-years from Earth.
The star Earendel was discovered in 2022 using another telescope, Hubble. It is the farthest known star from Earth.
James Webb observatory employees found that 12.9 billion years ago the star was about a million times brighter than the sun, and its surface was twice as hot as the sun.
