The Krasnooktyabrsky District Court of Volgograd sent 24-year-old Ekaterina A., accused of murdering a baby (clause «c» of part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code), to a pre-trial detention center, according to the telegram channel of the press service of the regional courts.
As stated on the website of the Volgograd Department of the Investigative Committee, on August 3, Ekaterina A. left her nine-month-old child alone in an apartment without food or water. A few days later, on August 7, the grandmother found the baby dead.
The press service of the courts publishes a video where a woman sitting in a cage answers journalists' questions. In particular, Ekaterina A. said that her husband was a contract soldier. When asked by a journalist about whether she somehow analyzed the situation with the baby, the woman replied: “It’s just that he (husband – MZ) left, and there was no help for me.” The journalist clarified whether Catherine felt abandoned because of this, she nodded.
