MOSCOW, Aug 8 Russian President Vladimir Putin President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa. The President of South Africa gave a positive assessment of the results of the recent Russia-Africa summit in Petersburg, which will undoubtedly contribute to the further strengthening of cooperation between Russia and African countries. As specified, in continuation of the July 29 separate meeting between Putin and Ramaphosa, a number of issues of cooperation between Russia and South Africa were discussed with an emphasis on strengthening trade, economic and investment ties.
It is also noted that the leaders are mutually disposed to further constructive interaction on the current international agenda, including preparations for the upcoming BRICS summit in Johannesburg on August 23-24.
