MOSCOW, Aug 11 The Bank of Russia does not see financial stability risks due to the situation with the depreciation of the ruble, Deputy Chairman of the Regulator Alexei Zabotkin said during a press conference .
«No, we do not see financial stability risks, but we would like to avoid a situation where we additionally increase market volatility with these operations,» he answered the question of whether there are risks to financial stability from the depreciation of the ruble.
In order to reduce volatility in the financial market, the Bank of Russia decided not to buy foreign currency within the framework of the budget rule from August 10 until the end of 2023, but at the same time continue to carry out operations related to the NWF to sell foreign currency for 2.3 billion rubles in a day. The decision to resume operations will be made taking into account the actual situation in the financial markets.
