The Gornomariysky District Court of Mari El fined VKontakte user Fedor Ershov 1,000 rubles because of a song by rapper Oksimiron (Miron Fedorov), banned by court order. The SOVA analytical center drew attention to the publication of the resolution.
Among the songs on Yershov's page was a 43-minute «miXXXtape I» with early songs by Oksimiron. Due to the fact that the track “Last Call” was in the third place from the end, a protocol was drawn up on it on the distribution of “extremist materials” (Article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
Fyodor Ershov was assigned the minimum fine under the article which in turn involves up to 15 days of arrest. He noted that he added a mixtape to himself even before the ban on «Last Call».
The song, which was released in 2009, told in the first person how a bullying schoolboy plans to shoot at the last bell. In 2018, after a student attacked a college in Kerch, YouTube, Facebook, VKontakte, and Odnoklassniki, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, blocked a fan video for this song. In the fall of 2022, a court in Moscow declared the song “extremist.”
Oksimiron left Russia after the start of the war in Ukraine and gave three concerts Russians against war, from which he transferred the profits to the fund for helping Ukrainian refugees. In October 2022, the Ministry of Justice entered the rapper into the register of “foreign agents”, and the courts, in addition to “Last Call”, also banned his song “Oida” from distribution. Because of this song, where there were the words «Ingria will be free», he was fined under the article about calls to » violation of the territorial integrity of Russia. The rapper was also fined for not being labeled as a foreign agent in a New Year's address post.
