Over the past two weeks, about 1,300 people have been added to the list, including four officers with the rank of lieutenant colonel and above. In total, 284 high-ranking officers are now known to have died.
The largest group among the dead are prisoners recruited in the colonies, there are 5,637 of them. The deaths of at least 3,167 mobilized, 2,902 volunteers and 2,441 Wagner mercenaries have also been confirmed.
At the same time, the real number of those killed in the war is much higher. According to Mediazona and Meduza's calculations, based on data on excess male mortality, by the end of May 2023 there were 47,000 of them.
