The Sergeevo-Posad City Court arrested Sergei Chankaev, the technical director of the Piro-Ross company, which rented a warehouse at the Rostec plant, where an explosion occurred on August 9. This was reported from the courtroom by a TASS correspondent.
Chankaev is accused of violating industrial safety requirements (Article 217 of the Criminal Code). Interfax writes that he did not admit his guilt. According to the technical director of Piro-Ross, the explosion at the warehouse is the result of sabotage. Earlier, Chankaev also said that the first explosion occurred in a nearby warehouse with metal pipes, where there was no fuel or explosives.
Information about the detention of the technical director of Piro-Ross appeared the day before, on August 10. On the day of the explosion, August 9, he was taken for interrogation to the Investigative Committee.
As a result of the explosion at the Zagorsk optical-mechanical plant, one person died, more than 80 needed the help of doctors. According to the latest data, the fate of 8 people remains unknown.
At the plant owned by Rostec, sights for weapons and dosimeters for the military were produced, the enterprise also participated in the development of the Messenger bomber. OSINT researchers analyzed one of the eyewitness videos and noticed that the first explosion did not occur in the building where Piro-Ross rented a hangar. The ignition of the pyrotechnics, in their opinion, could be secondary.
