VLADIVOSTOK, Aug 12 The rise of water in Ussuriysk, which was hit by powerful downpours, has stopped, but more than ten villages are still cut off from road traffic, the press service said city district administration.

“Now it has stabilized (the water. — Approx. ed.), but still the situation is, accordingly, tense on this occasion,” said the source of the agency.
No less 11 villages remain without road communication. Last night, the flood forced the evacuation of about 200 people, now there are 132 people in three temporary accommodation centers.
On social networks, footage appeared showing flooded streets, along which the townspeople move by boat or by swimming.
Typhoon «Hanun» hit Primorye this week. The heaviest showers were in Ussuriysk and the western regions of the region. In total, 32 settlements were cut off from road traffic in the region, 543 private houses and 1429 household plots were flooded, as well as 40 roads. A state of emergency was introduced in nine municipalities.
By 8:00 am local time, 132.8 millimeters of rain fell in the Ussuriysk city district — more than the monthly norm. Because of the overflow, the dam, which was built to contain the flood, broke through. There are 27 private houses and 111 adjoining territories in the flood zone.
