MOSCOW, August 10 People's Artist of the USSR Vera Vasilyeva will be buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow on Saturday, the press service of the Satire Theater reported.
Vasilyeva died Wednesday at age 98. The farewell will take place on Saturday at the Theater of Satire, where the actress served, and the funeral, according to the theater, will take place in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Vasilyeva was born on September 30, 1925 in Moscow. In 1948 she graduated from the Moscow City Theater School. Since 1948 she worked in the troupe of the Theater of Satire. She has played more than 40 roles in the theater, including the Queen in The Magic Rings of Almanzor, Vyshnevskaya in Profitable Place, Countess Almaviva in Crazy Day, or The Marriage of Figaro, and many others.
< br />The cinematography brought national fame to the actress. Filmography Vasilyeva has more than 30 paintings. Among the paintings with her participation: «Wedding with a Dowry», «Star of the Screen», «Carnival», «While the Fern is Blooming», «Hill Country» and others. The actress also voiced the cartoons «First Violin», «Umka is looking for a friend», «The Wizard of the Emerald City».
