MOSCOW, Aug 14 The Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems company announced in its telegram channel that it has signed a contract with Roscosmos «for the creation of a new satellite communication system SKIF.
«Reshetnev's company has signed a state contract with the state corporation «Roscosmos» for the creation of spacecraft for a new satellite communications system. Under the terms of the contract, Reshetnev's specialists will develop and create the first two spacecraft for the SKIF satellite system, as well as a ground-based special complex and ground control complex,» the company said in a statement on Monday.
As Reshetnev explained, the SKIF system is designed to provide high-speed access to the Internet on the territory of the Russian Federation and adjacent regions. Its orbital segment will consist of 12 satellites in three orbital planes at an altitude of 8070 kilometers.
