WASHINGTON Aug 14 To Ukraine, ammunition for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, artillery pieces and tanks, as well as various types of anti-tank missile systems, the Pentagon said.
The total cost of deliveries from the warehouses of the US military is $ 200 million.
The aid package includes additional ammunition for Patriot and HIMARS, 155mm and 105mm artillery pieces, 120mm tank guns, Javelin and TOW ATGMs.
Ukrainians will also receive 37 tractors, 58 tank trucks for water, 12 million rounds of ammunition and grenades, mine-clearing equipment, explosives for clearing obstacles, spare parts and maintenance services.
This is the 44th delivery of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine from the Pentagon.
Russia previously sent to NATO countries note because of the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation stated that the NATO countries are «playing with fire» by supplying weapons to Ukraine. The Kremlin emphasized that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect. Lavrov also stated that the US and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, «including not only the supply of weapons, but also the training of personnel … on the territory of Great Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries.»
