MOSCOW, August 13 Musician Leonid Agutin explained in an interview to Nadezhda Sagittarius, published on YouTube, why he did not turn to SHAMAN (Yaroslav Dronov) during blind auditions on the show «Voice» .

“He has a strong voice, but the direction of his singing and creativity, as it turned out later, is very even, direct. I didn’t understand what to do with it, ”Agutin admitted.
The Honored Artist of Russia added that Dronov has a pronounced «folk school» of performance.

«I'm not saying it's bad. But we have Pelageya, a populist,» said Leonid Agutin, noting that on the «Voice» the judges often chose the participants based on the manner of their performance.
Thus, vocalists with an academic manner of voice, as a rule, were taken to the team by Alexander Gradsky (the musician died in 2021. — Approx. ed.), and Leonid Agutin invited those who sang jazz and soul.
“We each had our own role,” commented the artist.
Yaroslav Dronov, who later took the stage name SHAMAN, participated in the third season of the popular TV project in the Pelageya team, where he reached the final.
