For one evening, on August 12, industrial spaces of 16 regions of Russia will open their doors to visitors as part of the first All-Russian festival «Night of Factories» with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives . Legendary productions become culturally attractive
The most numerous category — «Giant Plant» — is represented by ten enterprises. They independently implement cultural projects.
For example, the Oktava creative industrial cluster and the Machine Tool Museum in Tula. Oktava is a famous electroacoustics factory. Yuri Levitan and Yuri Gagarin spoke into the microphones made here, Vladimir Vysotsky and Iron Maiden sang. Here they will give a tour of the exhibition «Man and Machine» prepared jointly with the Polytechnic Museum — they will talk about the connection between technical evolution and creativity.

A musical rave from the sound of Tibetan singing bowls and electronic music with a parallel video art created by a neural network — this is how the Night of Factories will take place on the territory of the Elmat enterprise in Kaluga.
And in Derbent, the guests of the festival are waiting for excursions along the art route of the Derbent Wine factory with a view of the Caspian Sea and the area with installations near the fortress wall — a UNESCO cultural heritage site.
In Yaroslavl — an audio walk at the Krasny Perekop factory, the heiress of the Yaroslavl large manufactory, founded in the 18th century. The history of Elmash in Yekaterinburg will be introduced at an exhibition in the Zarya space.

The Tyumen branch of the Sverdlovsk Railway hosts exhibitions of Siberian architects, sculptors and craftsmen, a fashion show, a concert program and a gastronomic tour of the region. And at the Kaliningrad Carriage Works there are theatrical and sound performances by local artists.
The workshops of the Aleksandrovsky (Onega Tractor) Plant in Petrozavodsk have been the center of industrial production in Karelia for almost a quarter of a millennium. Here guests of the «Night of Factories» will be invited to reflect on abandoned and transforming industrial sites.


The Moscow Center for Creative Industries «Fabrika» hosts a screening of the Big Cartoon Festival. In the city of Slobodskaya, Kirov Region, an excursion to the Water Tower, built according to the project of the Vyatka architect Ivan Charushin. At the petrochemical enterprises of Sibur in Perm and Tobolsk, a musical performance-promenade about the interaction of art and production. Dreamlaser's multimedia installations will be placed in the art space of the Raketa watch factory in Peterhof, at the Bolshoi Ivanovo Manufactory and in the aisles of the First Block of Workshops of the Chekhov Power Engineering Plant (ChZEM-Energomash).

An interesting and understandable story about the aesthetics and meanings of production can attract young people, the organizers of the festival believe. The stereotype about dark factory vaults, hard work will be replaced by the understanding that today this is a high-precision and technologically advanced business.
