MOSCOW, August 14 The Central Bank will hold an extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors on the key rate on August 15, follows from the statement of the regulator.

" The time for the publication of a press release on the decision of the board of directors is 10:30 Moscow time,” the publication says.
At a meeting on July 21, the Central Bank decided to raise the key rate to 8.5 percent per annum. Previously, the regulator has not raised this figure since February 2022.
In addition, the Central Bank allowed a further increase in the key rate, but without the proviso that this would occur in the context of a gradual increase in inflationary pressure.
The key rate is the minimum percentage at which the Central Bank issues loans to commercial banks for a week and at which it is ready to accept funds for deposits. The size of this indicator affects the inflation rate.
The next scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia will take place on September 15.
