MAKHACHKALA, Aug 15 The number of victims of the explosion at a gas station in Makhachkala has risen to 56, including 13 children, the press service of the Ministry of Health of Dagestan reports.
“At the moment, as a result of an explosion at a gas station: 12 people were killed (including two children), 56 people were injured (including 13 children),” the report says.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health of Dagestan reported 12 dead and 50 injured.
According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, on the evening of August 14, a message was received about a fire and an explosion in a car service center and at a gas station on the highway in Makhachkala. 260 people and 80 pieces of equipment are involved in the liquidation of the emergency. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia also reported that the fire area is, preliminary, 500 square meters. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan reported that only two tanks out of eight exploded at the car service, there is a high risk of repeated fires.
