YAROSLAVL, Aug 20 A man and a six-year-old girl died, four more were injured when trees fell on a tent city in the Kaluga region in bad weather, reports SUSK and the prosecutor's office of the region.
The incident occurred on Sunday night on the territory of a recreation center in the Tarussky district of the Kaluga region. According to the investigation, the territory of the recreation center was provided for a gathering of bikers.
“Holidayers set up tents on the territory of the base. On Sunday night, as a result of a thunderstorm and a lightning strike, trees were knocked down, which fell, including on the tents. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two persons). The maximum sanction is imprisonment for 10 years.
According to the prosecutor's office of the region, the child died from injuries in the hospital.
