In SIZO-3 of the Rostov region in Novocherkassk, cellmates beat Igor Paskar, who was convicted because of a Molotov cocktail thrown at the FSB building in Krasnodar. This was announced by the Solidarity Zone project helping the 46-year-old handyman.
At the end of May, Pascar was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison. Although due to his symbolic arson of the FSB building in June 2022, only the rug at the entrance caught fire, the man was accused of committing a terrorist attack (part 1 of article 205 of the Criminal Code) and vandalism motivated by political hatred (part 2 of article 214 of the Criminal Code).
Before the arrest at the FSB building, Paskar managed to draw a Ukrainian flag on his cheek. “I wanted to express my opinion, it was a cry. I am a simple person, a simple hard worker, just like those who live in Ukraine, in the «SVO» zone. I sacrificed myself to the regime, but I am not a terrorist,” he explained his act in a conversation with Mediazona.
At the end of July, Igor Paskar was transferred from SIZO-1 in Rostov-on-Don to Novocherkassk . In a letter published by the Solidarity Zone, he said that the cellmates in SIZO-3 immediately asked what he was being tried for and began to resent him with the words: “What are you doing? For dill? Do you know that there are those who fought with them? After that, according to Pascar, the inmates «wouldn't say that they hit [him] hard, but he got a couple of slaps.» The prison staff then transferred him to a new, quieter cell.
