MOSCOW, 20 Aug. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky does not understand that the supply of fighter jets will not be able to change the position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, whose losses at the front are more than 400,000 people. This was written by former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter on the social network X, commenting on the decision of the Netherlands to transfer F-16s to Ukraine.
«They will all be shot down within a month,» the officer noted.
According to Ritter, these deliveries only create the illusion of security for Kiev. He recalled that the allies forced Zelensky to sacrifice more than 400,000 Ukrainian men «in an unsuccessful NATO gambit.»

Earlier, Zelensky met with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte. After negotiations, he announced the agreement of Amsterdam to provide 42 F-16s for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced the transfer of another 16 fighter jets.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the United States and its NATO satellites create the risk of a direct armed clash with Russia, this is fraught with catastrophic consequences. According to him, the fact that Kiev has F-16 fighters capable of carrying nuclear weapons will be considered by Moscow as a threat from the West in the nuclear sphere.
