JOHANNESBURG, Aug 18 Russia sees great potential for energy cooperation with Brazil, the country is already receiving oil products, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Nikolai Shulginov said.
«We see great prospects with Brazil in all aspects of energy cooperation — today we can state the beginning of the supply of petroleum products, but the potential is much wider,» Shulginov said at a meeting of BRICS energy ministers.
According to him, Russia and South Africa have already begun practical steps to implement the agreements reached by the leaders of the countries in the framework of the Russia-Africa summit in the field of electric power, nuclear and coal energy.
The minister recalled that China and India are Russia's strategic partners in building a new, fair energy market and trade infrastructure. «Russia remains the largest supplier of oil to these countries, and other energy sources are also exported — gas, coal. Joint projects are being implemented in the territories of both countries, national currencies are used in calculations,» Shulginov said.
