MOSCOW, August 14 Examination of Andrey Rublev's «Trinity» was completed in the center of Grabar, said the head of the department for scientific and methodological work and exhibition activities of the Scientific and Restoration Center named after Grabar Elena Prokhanova.
«Trinity» was transported from the Cathedral of Christ the Savior to the restoration center on July 19. A special room with climate control and air conditioning systems was prepared in it to store the icon. On July 24, her examination began. The general director of the Tretyakov Gallery, Elena Pronicheva, reported that the Tretyakov Gallery specialists, who have been involved in the preservation of the Trinity for many years, will participate in the extended restoration council, at which experts will decide on further work with the icon.
«The survey has been completed. Now the stage of analyzing the information received On its basis, a program of further activities will be developed,» the agency's interlocutor said.
According to her, the date of the extended restoration council has not yet been set.

The Holy Trinity icon was painted by Andrei Rublev in the 15th century for the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. After the revolution in 1929, «Trinity» was transferred to the State Tretyakov Gallery, where it was kept until recently. In May of this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the return of a masterpiece of ancient Russian icon painting to the Church. In early June, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia said that the «Trinity» would be exhibited in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, and then return to its historical place — the Trinity Cathedral of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.
In July, «Trinity» was donated the use of the Lavra for 49 years, the corresponding agreement was concluded between the Tretyakov Gallery and the monastery, it was signed by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova and the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
